The Adrenal glands are two small glands located on top of the kidneys and are an integral part of the endocrine system. They are responsible for producing several important hormones and are critical to our bodies the stress response. When the adrenal glands are not functioning optimally, you can have a condition that is known as adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue often develops after periods of intense or lengthy physical or emotional stress, which can lead to altered hormone levels, causing imbalance in the endocrine function leading to substantial physical fatigue.
